Al-Rai Newspaper: Kuwaiti deputy asks the prime minister to pardon "Al-Abdali cell" elements

The Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Rai" revealed that the National Assembly (Kuwaiti Parliament) deputy, Adnan Abdul-Samad, asked the Prime Minister-designate Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, that the general amnesty should include everyone, including the "Abdali cell."

Deputy Abdul Samad revealed a special meeting he had with Khaled, describing him as frank, fruitful, serious and elaborate, and said that he “discussed with Al-Khaled the outstanding issues, including amnesty, public debt, the Bidun and the demographics.”

This comes in light of the consultations that precede the formation of the new government, and the newspaper stated that the governmental-parliamentary understandings for coordination regarding the priorities reached their highest levels, with the meeting that brought together the Speaker of the National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim and the Prime Minister-designate, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, on the culmination of previous meetings that Al-Khaled held with deputies and blocs. Cautious optimism prevailed in the halls of the National Assembly, amid the signs of a special amnesty that includes all social formations coinciding with national celebrations, although there is anticipation of some groups that are waiting to have a greater role in the negotiation.

For his part, Deputy Dr. Abdullah Al-Tariji said that he conveyed to Khaled “the necessity of folding the file of national reconciliation so that the citizens return to their country with dignified strength, especially as we live in the atmosphere of celebrating the National Day,” pointing out that the Prime Minister showed understanding and eagerness to cooperate.
